Hi, I’m Amanda!

Amanda Lowrey, Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (#R9041)
Supervised by Karlee Davis, M.S., LPC (#C4914)
I’m so glad you’re here. Whether you’re dealing with specific challenges or simply looking for deeper connection and understanding in your life, I’m dedicated to helping people navigate life’s ups and downs. With a warm, direct, and collaborative approach, my hope is for you to explore your emotions and experiences without fear of judgment, shame, blame, or feeling like a burden. I truly believe you are the expert of your own life! Your experiences, cultural identities, and voice matter most, and I look forward to walking with you on your healing journey.
One of my favorite quotes is: “We grow through what we go through.”
It speaks to the resilience that exists within all of us. Life throws us challenging moments, and yet there is always the potential to learn, adapt, and ultimately find a sense of purpose or meaning through what we've faced. I founded Grow with Purpose Counseling, LLC, with the intention of helping people heal, grow, and step into their most authentic selves. You deserve a space where showing up for yourself is celebrated and supported.
My Clinical Approach
Person-Centered | Strengths-Based | Solution-Focused | Trauma-Informed
My clinical approach is rooted in Emotion-Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems, with a focus on mindfulness, somatic experiencing, and attachment theory.
By blending a variety of therapeutic modalities, we’ll explore how the context of your lived experiences are shaping your life, and build skills to navigate emotions, thoughts, and relational patterns. As we work together, I’ll invite you to tap into your strengths and personal resources to create lasting change and growth!
Some of the approaches I draw upon include:
-
EFT helps clients explore and process emotions to foster a deeper understanding of their feelings and develop healthier emotional responses.
-
Aimed at supporting individuals to develop a more mindful and compassionate relationship with themselves and others. These techniques can be used to help clients reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and cultivate greater self-awareness and acceptance.
Somatic Therapy integrates body awareness into the therapeutic process, recognizing that physical sensations are often connected to emotional experiences. By tuning into the body, clients can release tension and process emotions more holistically.
-
IFS explores the various "parts" of the self and works to bring these parts into balance. This modality encourages healing and self-compassion, fostering a more harmonious internal dialogue, and connection with core self.
-
CBT identifies and challenges negative thought patterns and behaviors. It's a practical and structured approach that aims to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind people's difficulties, and thus change the way they feel.
-
SFBT is a practical, goal-oriented approach that concentrates on finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems. It helps clients identify existing strengths and resources.
-
Examines how early relationships influence current emotional well-being and interpersonal patterns. Addressing attachment wounds can lead to healthier relationships and increased emotional security.
-
Helps clients explore and reframe the stories they tell about their lives. By shifting the focus from limiting patterns to strengths and values, clients are empowered to create new, empowering narratives.
-
CFT helps clients develop and strengthen their capacity for self-compassion, which can be particularly beneficial for those struggling with shame, self-criticism, or emotional difficulties.

I experienced firsthand how transformative therapy can be as a teen. It was truly life-changing for me, and I continue to actively seek support through therapy myself — I’m open about that with my clients.
My passion for therapy deepened after studying overseas, where I was exposed to Eastern wellness practices and thought that blending it with Western psychology was worth exploring. I found a sense of alignment between the two that really resonated for me and my outlook as a therapist. Our bodies carry so much energy and emotion, and I believe in the power of somatic healing. Sometimes, the silence or the space between words can speak volumes in therapy, just as much as any conversation can.
Healing doesn’t have a finish line; We’re constantly evolving, and that’s what I love about the therapeutic process.

My wish for every client I encounter is that they leave our work together with a little more mindfulness in their lives. In a society where success, accomplishments, and external validation are so often prioritized, I believe it’s important to take a step back and reconnect with our own values — letting our innate capabilities shine.

I'm an old soul at heart — A vinyl collector, musical theater lover, and thrifting aficionado. You’ll often find me binge-watching reality competition shows or crafting when I need time to unwind. And, I love naps…
I also find peace in my mindfulness practice, because it has meant so much to my mental and emotional well-being: Sound baths, breathwork, grounding stones + crystals, incense and aromatherapy, are some of the little rituals that help me stay grounded.
-
I identify as a white cis-female who recognizes the privileges I hold, aiming to be conscious of how internalized racial and social privilege influence views and behaviors. I support all human rights and believe that challenging forms of oppression requires both learning and unlearning, alongside active participation.
I welcome holding space for diverse belief systems with my clients. My own spiritual journey has been a long, winding path; It has gradually evolved into a deeply personal experience of exploring different aspects that feel most meaningful to me, without being confined to any organized practices or groups. One of my favorite books, The Book of Joy by the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu, reminds me that, no matter our beliefs, we all share universal human experiences of joy and suffering.
As well, I strive to live mindfully as a lifelong learner; I continuously educate myself through educational resources, relevant trainings, and regularly engage in supervision to ensure I’m practicing competently.
